Valerie Rich has been connected to Yoga since her first introduction in 1982 whilst living in England. During this time she earned her Psychology degree as well as trained as an Alexander Technique teacher, studying with many of FM Alexander’s original students. Then while living in Melbourne, Australia, Valerie received her Yoga teacher-training certificate (1996) and began teaching. She also helped set up and direct The School of FM Alexander Studies, a three-year teacher-training course there.
Returning to the USA after nearly twenty years abroad, Valerie continued to study Yoga and gained a teaching certificate in Pre- and Postnatal Yoga. She also fell in love with Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, trained to teach in that tradition, and continues to practice with her teacher Valerie Schneiderman. Aside from her interest in Yoga, she is a Reiki master, and uses her skills as a volunteer for Regional Hospice in Danbury, CT.
Her teaching of Yoga, Alexander Technique and Meditation are tailored to the individual. Her passion and skill as a teacher and healer is in empowering the individual toward health and well-being. Valerie teaches classes and workshops in and around Fairfield County and also offers private Yoga, Alexander Technique and Meditation sessions. Valerie is currently training with Floracopia to become a certified Aromatherapist. She is also a Wellness Advocate for doTerra essential oils.
